Pat Boros Trail Run Sibley State Park Saturday, September 11
Celebrating the connection between Fitness, Nature and the Human Spirit. Pat Boros was one of the original and most reliable volunteers to work with MentorWorks programs in Kandiyohi County. He held great faith in the resilience of our most “at-risk” youth, and practiced that faith personally and professionally. Pat had a humble and quiet spirit, but had a powerful impact on many lives.
Pat was also a great promoter of fitness and healthy lifestyles. He was a founding coach for the “Heart and Sole” running club in Willmar. His presence at the YMCA fitness center was remarkably routine. Many will remember Pat attached to an elliptical trainer, sweating profusely, bandanna on forehead, a slight smile on his face and determined furrow on his brow. He trained to complete a number of ultra-distance events, and was dedicated to the spiritual reward of “silent sports.”
The Pat Boros trail run follows the same routes that Pat ran regularly as part of his fitness regimen and commune with creation. The event is held in honor of Pat’s life, and his belief in the connection between fitness, nature, and the human spirit.
