Hosted by the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA and the 12th District Bar Association. Part of the Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series and timed by Pickle Events, this event just keeps getting better every year. A beautiful run/walk around Robins Island right here in Willmar. Race date for 2019 is May 25th at 9AM!
The Y will be open Special Holiday Hours on Thanksgiving Morning from 7 AM - 10AM as we will once again be the host site for the Turkey Leg 5K Run 3.1 mile run through the streets of Willmar, MN. Join us for a 10 week program in a welcoming environment designed to be an informative, fun, safe and lasting experience for runners of all ability levels. Goal of this program is to bring people together that want to run for the first time or enhance their current running experience. Each week will include information on running topics, group run, and guided training plan to prepare you to participate in the Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk, included with registration fee.
Program meets weekly on Wednesdays for 10 weeks prior to the 5K held on Saturday, May 25th at Robbins Island. What a great, healthy way to start your holiday weekend!
Two New Seasonal Group Opportunities!
New Seasonal addition to the Group Exercise Schedule a the Y! Lead by players from the Willmar Warhawks. Get a Great Workout and Get to know the Talented Young Hockey Players from the Willmar Warhawks. Participants who attend the first 2 class sessions receive a FREE Ticket to Warhawks Game on November 21st! Free for members but registration required and participants must be at least 13 years of age. Non - Members are welcome with a registration fee.
Tired of walking alone, outdoors in the MN weather? Looking for a new way to motivate yourself and others to get moving? Try Nordic Walking indoors at the Y! A walking club is a good way to expand your workout group and improve overall health. Nordic Walking is perfect for active older adults, anyone with a diagnosed movement disorder such as Parkinson's, or if you are just looking for a new, fun way to get moving. The group will meet the 3rd and last Wednesday of the month starting November 21st at the upstairs wellness desk and walk on the indoor track through March.
