Effective thursday, April 1, 2021


Update from the CEO

Due to changes in the Governor’s Executive Order, the following changes will be made effective April 1, 2021:

Reservations are no longer required for:
·        Upper Level Wellness Center
·        Lower Level Wellness Center
·        Basketball Shooting (Gym)
·        Family Swim
·        Kids Gym

Members may use the Wellness Centers at their leisure during building hours.  The Lower Level Wellness Center is open 4:00 am – 11:00 pm with FOB use after main building hours.  Basketball shooting is available as scheduled on the Gym Schedule.  Family Swim is available as scheduled on the Pool Schedule.  Kids Gym is open Monday – Friday 5:00-7:30 pm.  Capacity of all areas are posted.  If capacity is reached, next member must wait until somebody leave the area to enter. 

The following areas/ activities require scheduled reservations due to limited available capacity and are open to members only:
·        Lap Swim
·        Group Exercise and Cycling Classes
·        Water Fitness Classes
·        Child Watch
·        Racquetball Courts
·        Pickleball Courts

Building Hours are:
Monday – Friday       5:15 am - 7:30 pm
Saturday                  8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday                   12:00 noon-4:00 pm

Masks and six feet of social distancing are still required in all areas of the building, including while exercising.  Thank you for your cooperation in keeping each other well and following the State of Minnesota mandates.

Age/Activity Summary

Use of water fitness equipment has been reinstated with a 20 hour dry time between use. A designated area has been set aside for members to leave equipment for cleaning and drying.

Happy Together (Health Aging Program)Beginning

You may call the welcome center at 222-9622 to reserve the following:

  • Racquetball Courts for Singles Play (2 players per court). Please be aware that people in the courts may not intermix during their reservation time.
    • Court reservations are available during current building hours.
  • Pickleball will be available with a maximum of 4 people per court with 2 courts per ½ of gym. Colored balls will be issued for each court so that balls do not mix between courts. Please be aware that people in the courts may not intermix during their reservation time.
    • Courts reservations are available Monday-Friday from 7:00-9:00 and 9:300-11:30 am. Saturday 8:00 - 10:00 am.

All Reservations are area specific and you must remain in the area you reserved. Each area has a specific maximum capacity. Moving to another area of the building is prohibited. Reservations open one day prior to the reserved day, for example, Saturday prior for Monday, Monday for Tuesday…

Locker Room Reopening Details

Locker Rooms now have a limited number of lockers available for daily use. A number of lockers, socially distanced, have been opened in each locker room for use during member visits. Cleaning supplies are available in each locker room and members are asked to clean the locker following their visit and removal of belongings to leave them ready for members coming in after.

Men's, Women's, and Family Locker Rooms will open.

  • Max Capacity in the Women’s Locker Room is 9. Max Capacity in the Men’s Locker Room is 11. Max Capacity in the Family Locker Room is 9. Personal Areas are marked. If the locker room is at capacity, members will have to wait for a space to become available.
  • There are one-way routes through the locker rooms to eliminate congestion. Please follow signage.
  • Showers and bathrooms will be available, although some showers and toilet fixtures use may be suspended for social distancing.
  • Suit extractor is also available, but no congregation around the suit extractor is allowed.
  • In ALL Locker Rooms, one person is allowed at each vanity station at a time.
  • Scales will not be available in the locker rooms.
  • Social distancing of 6 feet apart, masks and handwashing is required.
  • The locker rooms will be closed each day from 1:45-2:45 pm to allow for deep cleaning. Surface cleaning will be done hourly. The Women’s Locker Room may close for 10 minutes each hour for surface cleaning, if female staff member is not available.
  • Reservations, schedules & Program registration

    Reservations are still required for fitness classes, child watch, lap swim, water fitness classes, racquetball, and pickleball. Reservations are not required for locker room usage. Reservations can be made on-line or by calling the YMCA during business hours.

    The reservation system will allow for registration 24 hours in advance on a first come, first serve basis. You may register yourself for one fitness class, one lap swim time per day and each child on your unit for one one hour and 15 minute block of child watch time per day maximum.  Between each reservation time, the facility/equipment will be cleaned and sanitized for the next members.  We recommend arriving 5 minutes early to complete the screening/check in process and allow time to make it to your reserved area.

    member requirements to participate

    To participate in Y activities:

    • Face masks are required to be worn at all times while in the YMCA, including while exercising, and social distancing of 6 feet is required while exercising.  
    • Face coverings for children 3-12 are recommended and caregivers will do their best to keep children wearing face coverings. 
    • Screening questions will be done at the YMCA front desk for All members and we ask you to sanitize or wash hands upon arrival.   
    • A new waiver and member code of conduct will need to be signed and submitted prior to first attended reservation time.  These waivers and the code of conduct will be available on the YMCA website reopening page so that you can bring it with you completed to save time.   
    • Increased cleaning and sanitizing procedures are in place and we ask participants to wipe down equipment before and after use as an additional safety precaution.
    • Towel Service is not available at this time.
